Kids Foundation

Many school-leavers do not know what career paths to follow and they also have scant knowledge of what is available in terms of funding, study options and institutions. We gathered all our school leavers together at ASSET (Association for Education Transformation www.asset.org.za) in August, for an information session on careers and tertiary funding. These annual workshops are always very valuable for our KiDS Scholars and we do appreciate the time that (KiDS Trustee) Jennifer Court and her team at ASSET give to our Matriculants.

In honor of only having 40 days of school left the Wynberg Girls High School Matrics the scholars dressed up and were treated to pizza purchased by the staff!  Photographed here is Buyelwa and Precious really getting into the swing of things.  Good luck girls!

Butch Liebenberg a close supporter of the KiDS Foundation told his Grandaughters all about the work we do on one of his visits to see them and as a result these amazing young ladies have taken it upon themselves to save up their pocket money and donate it to one of the scholar’s within the Foundation. 

Alex is a Matric student at St Johns in PMBURG where she is a prefect and head of the boarding establishment. Chloe is in grade 10 also at St Johns. Alex and Chloe collect coins from students at school as well as willingly parting  with some of their pocket money .  The younger girls Payton and Cameron attend Brechia house in Bryanston and always give their Grandfather a bag full of coins each time he sees them.

To date the girls have already handed over R700.00 in coins and Butch tells us after his most recent visit he now has a further R1150.00 ready to hand over.

To the Kilgour girls we say a HUGE THANK YOU for your generosity, kind spirits and appreciation of how important a good education is to all the young people in South Africa.
